I love the new stuff Julie Evans is creating, delicate little worlds overlaid with eastern patterns from her earlier works.
My mother in law seems to have a talent for creating Amigurumi (編みぐるみ, lit. knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. I am in the process of doing a bunch of sketches for her so she can make some for Etsy. Updates on the way.
I posted about the painter Oliver Vernon before, an amazing artist from Brooklyn (probably Williamsburg, my old hood) but there seems to be a whole movement of artists doing these surrealistically digitally inspired chaotic primordial pop soup paintings that makes me want to quite my job and lock myself in the garage to do explore this on my own.
